The disease I have become more aware of because of this class would be Ebola. I found your account of the man who first got extremely alarming. Bleeding from all your body orifices and eventually ripping your intestines sounds like one of the least pleasant ways to go. Despite it's grossness I actually looked it up because it was extremely interesting that such a terrible virus could exist. The extremely high fatality rate is worrisome as well. On my recent trip trip to Japan I found it interesting that a number of people wore face masks when they were sick. While it may look ridiculous, I feel that if the rest of the world adopted similar practices we could prevent the spread of a lot of diseases. Getting Ebola would probably be up there among my worst fears. :( very scary
